00 Venture

A Kenya washed, seasonal single origin, light roast with a high-caffeine profile. It is built from SL28 and Ruiru 11, two Kenyan cultivars known for highly aromatic coffee when washed and carefully processed. That combination tends to produce a vivid, complex cup with bright acidity and strong fruit and floral character.

Research on caffeine consistently shows improved endurance, higher power output, and lower perceived exertion at about 3 to 6 mg per kilogram of body weight. Coffee compounds such as chlorogenic acids and other polyphenols also contribute antioxidant activity.

Best used before pre-training or race-day efforts when a brighter cup and a moderate caffeine dose fit the session. It sits above Baseline in stimulation and below Summit in total caffeine density, while staying the most origin-forward coffee in the system.

Origin

The Guji highlands sit between 2,050 and 2,300 meters above sea level. At that elevation, the air is thinner, the temperature is cooler, and the heirloom varieties that have grown here for generations develop slowly — accumulating the compounds that lower-altitude coffee simply doesn't have time to build.

Natural processing means the cherry dries whole on raised beds, exposed to sun and open air for fifteen to twenty-one days. That extended drying creates drought stress in the bean — and drought stress triggers the plant's GABA pathway. The result is a coffee with elevated GABA and phenolic depth that's native to the process, not added after the fact.

Ethiopia already leads every major origin in total phenolic content. The Guji highlands are a large part of the reason why. This is coffee shaped by where it grows and how it's handled.
